16. RV Storage

_images/banner.winter.camping.png

If you are planning on storing your RV for any significant amount of time, we would encourage you to follow the recommendations with respect to the rechargeable battery in your Level Up (Level Up) module.

If none of configurations below apply to your setup, we recommend either:

  1. Power off Level Up module using the switch 1

  2. Reinsert the battery isolation tab

  3. Remove the battery from the module.

16.1. RV Power Storage Configurations

16.1.1. Shore Power

If you store your RV, with shore power connected and on you can leave the internal Level Up battery installed. The RV converter will keep the Level Up Pro fully charged.

16.1.2. Solar Installations

If you have a solar installation and your Level Up Pro is powered directly from the RV batteries, you can leave the internal battery installed in the Level Up Pro. The RV batteries will ensure that the module stays fully charged.

Tip

If your RV is equipped with a disconnect switch please read the next section.

16.1.3. Disconnect Switch

_images/disconnect.switch.png

If your RV has a main battery disconnect and your Level Up Pro external 12 VDC power is wired into one of the DC circuits from the converter you will likely loose power in the RV when the disconnect is set to off. In this scenerio we would recommend either removing the Level Up Pro battery, reinserting the battery tab, or use the power switch (if equipped) to turn the module off.

16.1.4. Level Up Pro connected directly to RV Batteries

If you store your RV without Shore power connected and do not have a solar installation we would recommend either removing the Level Up Pro battery, reinserting the battery tab, or use the power switch (if equipped) to turn the module off.

16.1.5. RV Battery Removal

If you remove your RV batteries when you store your RV we would recommend either removing the Level Up Pro battery, reinserting the battery tab, or use the power switch (if equipped) to turn the module off.

16.2. External USB Power Bank

If you regullarly check on your RV while it is in storage, another option would be to plug the Level Up module into an external battery bank. You will require either a Type A to micro USB cable or a Type A to Type B cable (not supplied). Check your specific module before purchasing a cable.

Tip

The external power bank option will work with Level Up Pro and Lite modules.
